The Relationship of Postpartum Acute Stress With Perceived Social Support on and Depression Symptom Level

Purpose:The research was conducted to determine the relationship between postpartum acute stress, social support and depressive symptom level depression. Patients Methods:This descriptive study with 280 primiparous women who childbirth in a public hospital Istanbul. The data were collected by general information form, Acute Stress Symptom Severity Scale (National Stressful Events Survey Disorder Short Scale-NSESSS), Edinburgh Postpartum Depression (EPDS) Multidimensional of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). analysed SPSS program. Results:The mean age included 24.75 ± 4.75, 13.6% worked regularly, 62.1% lived small family, 19.3% experienced at least one traumatic event during their life, 2.9% had history domestic violence 60.4% normal vaginal birth. total score point for NSESSS found be statistically significant, higher (p<0.05) lower case breastfeeding baby only It that increased stress as decreased symptoms Conclusion:It determined women\'s lack increased. Therefore, especially low other risky should closely follow-up healthcare professionals period.
